The AMW (Alberto Mendelzon Workshop) is an initiative of the Latin American community of researchers in data management, held annually since 2006, which aims to create opportunities for dissemination and exchange of research results from globally produced investigations, encouraging participants to propose innovative and technological developments.
This event aims to create opportunities for disclosure, transfer and exchange of worldwide research results in data management, fostering motivation of the participants (researchers, professors, undergraduate and graduate students) to generate technological and innovative developments. Also, it aims to identify research problems in the area and encourage the research's foundations. Submissions of data management papers describing foundations of databases are strongly encouraged.
The AMW 2014 will bring renowned researchers in the area to be key note speakers, the best papers will be selected for oral presentation by an academic committee of about 15 researchers and published in the event proceedings. Also, there will be tutorials for students, and an exhibition of posters, also selected by the academic committee.
